Bio

  • The Medicine Hat College Girls’ Choir is an auditioned choir of girls aged twelve to eighteen years. The vision of the choir is to provide teenage girls with the experience of achieving excellence in choral singing and to encourage a lifelong love of choral music.
  • The choir was founded by Dr. Carol Anderson, and is now under the guidance of its current director, Katie-Anne Nemeth. Through their involvement with the choir, girls are given the opportunity to sing a challenging and varied repertoire of music from many countries and styles.
  • The choir maintains a very busy schedule of rehearsals, performances, workshops and tours. Although tours provide special opportunities for the choir to perform, the choir believes that it is a pleasure and privilege to sing in the local community and appear regularly at local churches and varied community events in addition to annual Christmas and Spring Concerts
  • The choir holds many international achievemens, among the - Grand Prize of the Ihlombe South Africa Choir Competition and Festival (2016). The choir is honoured to consistently achieve GOLD standings at the Alberta Choralfest, and also consistently place in the top three at the Alberta Provincial Music Festival
