- In 2005 director Mike McCullough was asked to provide singers for a birthday party. He reached out to a few of his previous students to participate. The small group was a success and had fun singing together, so they stayed together. The name “Sunday Night Singers” (SNS) came naturally as they rehearsed on Sunday nights. Members have since come and gone as they began new chapters of their lives, but the ensemble continues to sing with a love and passion that has never changed. SNS now consists of a mix of 26 college students and young professionals who participate because they love singing together.
- SNS has competed in the Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales and at the World Choir Games in Cincinnati and Riga, Latvia. They have placed in multiple competitions and won the Mixed Chamber Choir category at the 2012 World Choir Games. In 2016, SNS participated in the ACDA Western Regional Conference. They have three recorded albums, Stacey V. Gibbs’ “Didn’t it Rain,” Joshua Shank’s “Color Madrigals,” and their holiday album “An A Cappella Christmas.” The Sunday Nights Singers continue to grow with the addition of their 65 voice ensemble, SNS Chorale, and hosted their first high school choral festival in 2018.
